Camillus is out, so who is making Cold Steel Knives

So what was this thread supposed to be about -- Cold Steel's new sources, or an argument over attitudes?

By taunting the people who don't buiy Cold Steel, you've overshadowed your own question on manufacturing.

It has been done and done and done so many times, we really don't need to have the two sides line up again.

On this forum there is this small, smug, self important, vocal group of losers that just hate Cold Steel, various reasons...

Uh oh. :) Not a great way to get a 'discussion' started!

And I think most people hate Cold Steel knives by proxy through their advertising. Anyone who has owned any number of Cold Steel knives will (generally) agree that they're well-built and a very good value at their price point.

All I get from reading your post is that you are a whiner.

You are not really asking any questions, and you don't even have a clue about what you are talking about.

Rants belong in W&C.

I called Cold Steel and they told me that they were now using 1050 carbon steel, VG-1, and I believe the third steel was 1.114 Krups? Does that sound right? It's the same steel that the Kershaw Military Boot Knife is made from.

ok, whatever. sticks and stones, kid...

Hey, I resent that! I am not small at all at 6' 4" 220 lbs. (193cm 100kg). I would prefer to be called a big, smug, self important, vocal loser that just hates Cold Steel.

Besides, I don't just hate Cold Steel. I also hate Dork Ops, for instance, and Jaguar, Fury, Frost, Ginsu ... really I hate quite a few brands, too many to list them all.

(wunderbar) do you know which knives will be made in which steel? like 1050 for the trailmaster?or if they will be black coated or satin?i'm more interested in this than argueing about the cold steel hype crap.

Good point. I wonder if the next Special Projects catalog will have the information. They have a section up front with a rundown on all their steels.

...it doesn't get said, in summation, any better than that !

No I don't know. The person that I talked to said that the only thing that she knew so far was that the Throwing knives were now 1050 carbon steel. I too am curious to find out what will replace Carbon V in their fixed blades like the Trail Master and the SRK.
