Camillus made BK7 - worth more than KABAR?

So I traded for a BK7 and, upon arrival, noticed that it is a Camillus made version. It's seen plenty of use, so I was originally planning on stripping it. Now that I know what I do about the mfgr, I'm not sure. I like the look of the stripped blades, but I just want to know if this will affect the value. More importantly, is this version of the knife worth any more than the Kabar?

Final question, will the Mircata scales from Kabar fit this knife?

I don't think the camillus versions are worth a ton more. Especially in a well used condition. I'd strip or whatever you wanted without feeling too bad.
 
BK7? Used? Nope, not a penny more. Slap some Kabar micarta on that big dude and enjoy one of the best designed 7" Combat Utility Knives out there.

it's probably not worth anything :) send it to me...

generally speaking, if KaBar is making a Camillus version, there's really nothing special going on to be worth more money, unless MAYBE it's brand new, with grease, in box, with cardboard sheath, and has never been opened, touch, or seen the light of day :) and only to a collector.

the KaBar ones as users especially? imho? are much better implementations.

now, go read the FAQs :)
 
Correct me if I'm wrong, besides the steel used, the only thing different on the Camillus version would be no manufacturer's warranty/guarantee...
 
If it's already seen considerable use, just use it.
Herger is right about the warranty.
However, chances are you're not going to hurt the knife even with hard use.
 
I do think that the Camillus flavor is more desirable, simply because they are no longer being made.

As Promised - My whole Becker familia (I think I have an addiction - I acquired all of them in the las 3 months)! The nekkid BK7 is on the right next to 2 of the many neckers.

Opinions?

Next, some new sheaths. Moose, I may be contacting you soon for that:).
