I heard a rumor that the new Remingtons are not being made by Camillus, and that they are being made by United Cutlery. Can the moderator comment on this?

If anyone else has any info regarding this it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

There seem to be some 'Remingstons' offered that are 'off-shore' (China) production. Many of these feature mother of pearl handles. Of course the chinese do not have to follow stringent OASHA safety regulations for the workers dealing with MOP. I note the Pearl handle slabs are attached with glue, not pins, much easier on the manufacturer's bottom line than doing the job the right way.

Related: There are still quality Winchester branded knives made in this country (is it 'Blue Grass'?), but also a lineup from China, sold at Walmart, Gander Mountain, other places.

I really do value my few Camillus made Remingtons; Quality knives.

I had heard the swift-lokt series and some of the fixed blades were being made in the US by United Cutlery.
