Hello, I have a Remington R-5 or that’s what it seems to be. It’s in a Remington R-5 box with all the paperwork but the tang stamp says camillus and the shield is just blank. Does anyone know about this knife? Is it a prototype from when they were getting the manufacturing from Remington or something else. It might be normal but all the ones I’ve found still say Remington on them this is the only one I’ve seen that has the camillus stamp on the tang with no marking on the shield. Thank you for your time and if you can help with information I’d appreciate it.

Made with loose parts from Camillus sold off after it closed?? Also, it's not un-heard of getting a mis-marked blade mixed in the bin of parts for assembly,

Very possible this happened and it snuck through QC.
Camillus did make some Remington knives.
I have a 1990's no "R" Number Remington Canoe that was probably made by Camillus. (over a 95% chance, from what I've found.)
