does anyone know where I can get a camillus mil-k knife dated 1996, or prior in mint condition? I cannot seem to have any luck with this. Ive seen a few on ebay, but most are not in mint conditon, or go for ridiculous prices. Ive tried the wtb forum also with no results. I would like to have one for sentimental reasons (and collector reasons), I had one while I was in The AF from 88-96, but mine was swiped from me.

any ideas? help?

thanks,
sincerely,
John

rev_jch,

I don't have the knife you are looking for but hopefully you can provide some insight on the one I do have. I have a Stainless Camillus marked U.S. on the sides of the dimpled scales that has a blade marked "Camillus 1976" on the main blade, along with another blade marked "Can Opener" and the then opposite end has the bail loop and two blades ( awl~reamer & bottle lifter with long slotted screwdriver blade). While I might have used this knife so I wouldn't describe it as NIB it is in LNIB condition. Just curious as to how common these are and any approximate valuation?

The knife you have is the same kind I am looking for, mil-k. The knives go for around 14.99 dollars new. The older ones in mint will bring around 15-20 dollars (more for the original ones with brass liners, carbon blades, ect.) depending on the make, condition, ect. yours (with the date of manufacture) would probably be around 14-15 dollars in "lightly used" condition..

Rev_jch,

Thanks for the update. I called it lightly used because I couldn't remember if I had ever cut anything with it or not. No apparent marks or scratches so I will go from there. I bought these thing new and just stuck it up on a shelf along with a bunch of my SAKs. Went through them the other day because I am getting ready to buy a bunch of the models that were originally available in Europe. Not a bad piece of history but I have more need of a Pioneer with ALOX scales on a day to day basis.
