Anyone else notice the auction for 61 pages of copies of Camillus docs for "the entire Camillus output of WW II military knives" received from Tom Williams? I'd like to get copies, but I'm reluctant to start a bidding war over copies of documents that I would like to see added to the resources that are publicly available to Camillus collectors.

Tom, it has been my experience, is very generous with sharing his original documents. However, what he sends out is copies, not the originals. Ask Tom if you can have copies of them. It isn't cool, IMHO, to turn around and sell stuff that Tom has freely given.

Edit: I see these were provided to the seller years ago by Tom when the company was still in business. He likely still has the originals. Ask him. And offer to offset his copying and mailing costs.

You also might drop a note to the person (I forget who) posted one of those pages in a recent relevant thread in BRL's forum. Tom does'nt do a lot of computer time if I remember right.

ETA: Errrrp! Dat wuz you! :o

I spoke to Tom this week and got a CD from him in the mail with the 1948 Camillus catalog on it and a few Camillus fliers.

My CD burner is not working currently, so as soon as I make a trip to Kinkos to have the CD copied, I will be sending Larry a copy so it can be posted on Collectors-of-Camillus website.

acourvil - I have some info on Camillus tang stamps that will be of interest to you as soon as I get it all processed and put together.

Dale, that is great. I have sent Larry copies of Western catalogs that I have. I need to take pictures of a couple of 886's that i "won" on the bay so Larry can post them in the Camillus area.

Greetings, I am an old worn out guy half paralized and confined to a wheel chair. I was going through my treasures with my Wife (Her opinion was clearing out the junk) When i found some broken Camillus pocket knives. I have three of the silver camp knives with the US on the side. I rescued them from the trash telling my wife that if we disassembled the three broke ones, we could put two back together using the various parts. I know I could buy replacements for these inexpensive pocket knives. But they were my sons scout knives and they deserve a second chance.
Do any of you young craftsman want to revive two of the three junk knives i have? I can pay you with the money i sneak from The wife's casino funds. If you can help me to show my wife two fixed pocket knives and tell the old Girl "I told you so!" Maybe I would feel good enough to skip my nasty horse pill medication. Thanks

Brad,
Send me the three Camillus knives and I will repair them without charge. You pay the postage both ways.

Tom Williams
