Camillus mini talon, bad grind lines?

Seriously considering one. A totally rust resistant neck knife appeals to me, especially in my humid environment. A search shows several mentions of terrible grind lines on some mini-talons. Is this the exception or the rule on these? All references also mentioned the fact that they were razor sharp, which I really appreciate. If I am going to drop the bucks for this knife I would expect decent grinds. What should I realistically expect?

Dennis-

Don't know if I am just lucky or what. I have the Talon, mini-Talon, and the EDC in talonite, and the grind lines on all mine are excellent.
I have read here on the forums of a few that have had them with bad grind lines(even saw some pics with them bad as well), but seems to me with as many as they have sold the percentages are low on getting ones with bad grind lines.
I really like all 3 of mine, but I am a talonite nut. I say take a chance, and if you get a bad one, Camillus seems to have a great warranty, and would no doubt exchange for one with a better grind.
I say "Go for it"!!

Course this is just one opinion, and see if anyone else jumps in, and gives their opinion.

From what I have heard from custom makers who work with Talonite that it is harder to grind than steel. With that being said, you would think that in a production setting, Talonite will be even that much harder to grind, as Camillus cannot afford to have each blade ground by hand on a slack belt.

If at all possible, try to buy a Mini Talon when you have an opportunity to check them out before laying down the money. Of those that I have seen so far, the grinds were decent. You can tell some were a little off, but IMO they were still acceptable and quite functional. The first time I've heard of grind lines that were way off was when TOTC posted pics of the one he got.

Got one in a trade from Copfish. The grind lines aren't perfect, but the knife is still very functional. This knife is like wearing a scalpel around your neck. I love this little knife. It will make the perfect neck knife here in the humidity of the southeastern United States.

If you are concerned about imperfections you could try to find one of Rob's Mini Cetans after which the Mini Talons were modeled.

Perfect in every way. Great little knife.

The imperfections on this one aren't very bad. I saw a picture someone had posted that looked really bad. The grind lines are just a little off, but it in no way effects the usefullness and this is going to be a user.
