Camillus Mini-Talon ?

Muzzleup has one, which he loves. I was able to handle it. If had the bucks, would already be wearing one. It was amazing to me that such a small knife could exude so much quality and capability.

Muzzleup uses this forum, but probably is on the survival forum most.

RKnight;

Yup, I have the mini-Talon and the Talon and as Bugs has said.... I love them. They are well made, comfortable in my hands, and almost never need to be sharpened. They may not "feel sharp" but they just keep on cutting. I am thinking of making me a piggy-back sheath that will hold both the Tanlon and the Mini-Talon, however, wearing the mini around my neck is extremly comfortable...you don't even know its there until you need it.
If you can swing the $$$ then they are both worth it IMHO.

I LOVE this knife. Since I got it 2 months ago it is my constant companion. This is as good as it gets for a neck knife! Excellent materials excellent construction and NO corrosion!!!. With this guy I can go through the metal detectors at the airport and at my place of business without any problem. I was not too keen on neck knives until I got this one. Holds an edge for a long time although it does not "feel" sharp it cuts like the dickens. The best money I have ever spent on a blade. If you get one you will not be sorry.

I wouldn't count on that (well, unless you already have tried it and know).

Rockspyder,
Good point. I have made it through several metal detectors without trouble, however I would not bet that it will make it through all metal detectors. I work in a job that requires me to go through a metal detector every day and it has not been detected as of yet. I also made it through two on my recent trip to Mississippi.

Interesting, indeed. FYI, from an old thread I just quoted in another reply:

PS Just got an e-mail from Rob Cude which clarifies this issue (don't think he'd mind my sharing here): "As far as talonite goes, I have done the LO-MU testing perscribed for the MIL-SPEC for non-mag requirements and you can't hardly get the stuff in the same room with the test equipment and it starts ringing off. The cobalt is what causes the problems since it is pheromagnetic. Some people think that stuff is non-mag because a magnet won't stick to it, but that is not the case it also has to do with field disruption of the eddy currents."

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Mini-Talon. It stays sharp and easily tolerates one of the most toxic environments on the planet, my sweaty body

The handle ergonomics suit my big mitts because my pinkie easily slides behind the end of the knife for secure grip.
I like it for an in-the-pocket knife with the chain wrapped aroud my belt loop. The draw requires some fairly large movements, but is completely predictable. Plus in this mode, it easily passes for a pocket watch.
Talonite is the wave of the future.

The Mini-Talon is a neat little neck knife. The Kydex sheath is well made and it has the hole pattern to accept the mini-Tek Lok so you could wear it on your belt as well. Good thinking on some one's part @ Camillus.

I tied on a FOB/lanyard on mine, cut the ball chain to length of my liking and I'm good to go!

I wanted a knife I could take into the ocean and not have to worry about it rusting. I have some folders with 6K blades, but I didn't want to run the risk of losing one in the surf.
