Does anyone have or has seen one of the Camillus Jerry Fisk OVB bowie knives. If so, what is your opinion of it? Thanks

I've seen the picture only, but if you're talking about the one with the desert ironwood handle and the picture is accurate then it's the nicest production knife of all time (opinion only).

My local surplus store has one. The price was good but I pre-ordered the ironwood instead.

Fit and finish was outstanding, better than Randall and on a par with some of the best handmades. Particuliarly impressive is the near flawless fit of blade and guard.

I would rather the blade be a bit thicker, but that's how Mr. Fisk likes it and it's certainly good enough. Mine will definately be a user.

I've got the OVB#1 and have #2 on order. This knife is beautiful, sharp beyond belief and so far has just been fondled/adored. The first one has fiddleback maple handles and is gorgeous. I cannot wait for the desert ironwood. All in all, just about the perfect knife in bowie form. I have seen custom bowies that I think less of. If you can find a #1 for $200-250, then you are doing good. You should still be able to find a #2 somewhere online. Look for $250-300 price range there.
Good luck, it is a great knife.

I've got the first version with the fiddleback maple. For a production piece it is stunning. Beautiful, well balanced, sharp as hell. I bought it for a user, but it is so gorgeous that I can't even bring myself to sheath it. I'll probably either keep it unused or get rid of it..... just haven't got the heart to beat on it like I had planned.

If you are wondering if you should get one, I will give you a definite yes vote. One of the finest production blades I have ever seen.

I've seen NIB #1 not selling on eBay @ $175 and no taker - at least 3 times...

Personally, I was very disappointed with the handle color. Yes, the wood is gorgeous, but it's been dyed a nearly orange-ish yellow. It looks very artificial, and IMHO not very nice.

This beeing said, it's a great package and a beautiful knife.
