A while back I asked whether or not Camillus built the Remington brand of knives. Which, of course, turns out to be true. But here is a knife that really seems to marry Camillus to Remington. Sorry, so scan, but bear with me:
A nicely made two blade trapper, 3 5/8" long, one bolster (with a serial number), jigged bone handle, camillus oval shield on one side, NKCA round shield on the other. Clip blade is etched: Remington salutes the NKCA, 1972-1997. Camillus tang mark on that blade and tang mark of CCC-5 on the spey blade. Comes in a Camillus box, and the knife and box is serial numbered.
My questions: So is this considered a Remington or a Camillus knife? Seems unusual to me to have both manufactorer's names on the same knife. Was this a large issue, and do we know how many were made?
Thanks in advance... can't tell you all how much I appreciate this site.
