I recently bought a Camillus robolock. It is a Wild fire I think. It has a 3.65" black blade. Curious thing is the blade is marked Camillus and the tang Ontario. The box is marked Ontario. It is made in Taiwan. Think there is any more collector value because of the stamping? Also does anyone one know definitively which knives were actual Camillus the Taiwan or Spanish made ones or were both Camillus and not ACME?

The Taiwan ones are Camillus.
The Taiwan ones marked Ontario/Camillus were a small quantity redirected after Camillus' demise.
The "Spanish" ones are counterfeit Chinese knock offs.
To my knowledge ACME is not involved in the Heat or AO knives.

Do you know who or what company made these "Spanish" stamped knives. How did they get away legaly with using the Camilus name?

Yes, I know the charlatan responsible and the Spanish importer/exporter enabler that made this hideous travesty happen. I also know the 2 designers that got abused in the process to the point that the legal bills they inherited were greater than all the royalties ever paid on the design!

Acme United "owner" of the Camillus name now did stop them, but not until they stuffed a few distributors with the fakes, and, of course, the accompanying legal bills!

There is no point suing a paper asset LLC; when you win you get nothing. :jerkit:

Don't know if there is any truth to it but I heard at a knife retail store that one of Camilus's former salesmen was responsible for the Spanish knockoffs.
