Does Camillus still make slipjoints with carbon steel blades? If so, can you please direct me to a source where I can find them?

Thanks

Try looking at their factory website - the last time I checked, their overall slipjoint selection was pretty minimal and there were only a few patterns left in carbon steel - maybe a stockman and a trapper.

They do, however make a nice selection of carbon steel slipjoints for Moore Maker, in yellow delrin and genuine black buffalo horn handles and a variety of patterns. www.mooremaker.com

Okay... I've tried to figure out what a slipjoint is and how it's different from any other folder... Can't find it in Levine's 4th -- not in the Glossary anyway. By now I should know... so can someone enlighten me??
Thanx,
Barry

A slipjoint is a "pocketknife", with 1 or more blades. The blades don't lock because there is no locking mechanism. They stay open or closed by the pressure exerted on the blade by a backspring.

Slipjoints are the kind of knives your dad or grandad carried.

They're still made today by companies like Case, Queen, Schatt & Morgan, Canal Street Cutlery, and a few others.
