do any of you have any info. on the dura tool and what a knife camillus knives i have 6 of these all different models and blade's some with 1 bl some with 2 one has a bl. and sc.dr./ cap lifter bl. also have one that is a 2bl. electricians knife. all nice knive's they remind me of the all stainless U.S. mil-k knife. any info. would be a big help! as emails to camillus about these gets no reply's. Thanks, CAVTRPR

I also have several of these sturdy knives. From the packaging, the Dura-tool line was intended to be a sturdy no-frills line. All of the designs are based on older models to make use of as much existing tooling as possible. The Dura-tool line is generally better finished than the "What-A-Knife." I believe that the "What A Knife" line went a step further and used "leftover" parts from other products (overruns-My guess is this is why the blades and tools are often mixtures of carbon and stainless), the idea being to keep prices low. The mil-k knife was probably the inspiration for the design (good quality blades, strongest lowest cost handle design). They are all built like a WWII tank.

thanks guy for the input i collected these up because i liked the style and seemed as you say to be very study knives but have been unable to find much info. on theme thanks again CAV.

I looked around for info on them also, not much to be found. I forgot to mention that there is a lock back version of the Dura-tool based on the Camillus #2. I remember them being advertised a few years back, but I haven't come across an example.

if you happen to come across one of those lockbacks let me know would like to have one. Thanks again for the help. CAV.
