So I've been searching for the knife that started it all for me when I was a kid. I picked it up at a garage sale for $.25 and it was all rusted. I wound up breaking the tip off of it and losing it at some point :( and now I would love to be able to track another one down. I was hoping that I could get some help with my search here in the traditional sub forum. The closest thing to my knife that I could find is the TL-29 by Camillus. There are some differences the main one being that I remember my knife having only one blade and I am sure that mine didn't have the hump for what I assume is a liner lock on the middle liner of the TL-29. The smaller detail that I noticed is that the shackle on the back of mine was brass as well as the bolsters not steel. The only pins were the pivot pin and the shackle pin, the knife had black scales, brass liners, and a FFG spear point blade. So is the TL-29 as close as I will come to finding this knife or does anyone out there have any idea what knife this could have been? I appreciate any help I can get with this it's been nagging me in the back of my mind for a while now.

They are a knife made in the town of Maniago, Italy, like traditional Laguioles, or Opinel in France, I think if you google Maniago knife you should be able to find a seller.

Or you could send an existing TL-29 to a comptent knifemaker that can handle slippies and have him take off the middle liner, driver, and replace the shackle with a brass one for a bit closer knife for (perhaps?) less

Thanks for the help so far I did forget to mention that the blade was carbon steel for sure. If I can't find anything closer I will be getting one of those Maniago knives :)
