camillus whittler - hybrid blades

Hi all, new to the forum. Have a question I thought maybe someone could answer. I have an older (80's I'd guess) Camillus whittler, pretty vanilla old swell center "coke bottle" whittler pattern. This one seems unusual to me in that the main blade & it's spring are carbon steel while the two smaller blades & their spring are stainless. I'm wondering if this was something assembled at the factory with mismatched parts or if it was just the way they were made? No model no. on the tang, just "Camillus, New York, U.S.A." --- Thanks for any feedback
