I purchased a Camillus wildfire from that well know knife store in pigeon forge Tn. It has a black blade coating with the Camilllus blade scroll but hs Ontario stamped on the tang. The box also has Ontario on it. Would thiese dual markings enhance collector value?

From what I was told this was going to be a deal between Camillus and Ontario and they were made before Camillus went under.(it is made in Taiwan)

From what I can tell, it is a current production knife with prices ranging as low as $25. Perhaps Mr. Gibbs or someone else can weigh in on the authenticity of the Camillus Wildfire as an imported product of Camillus Cutlery, Camillus New York, U.S.A.

The first one I purchaed about a year ago from Cheaper Than **** was the Heat made in Spain. It does not have the locking feature of the Wild fire and a somewhat different handle shape. I wonder what the difference beween the two are. Diferennt experiments with the prduct with diferent counties before Camillus went under? SMKW still sells the Wildfire abeit without the Ontario /Camillus stamp, though just recently I notied that most of the Robo locs are out of stock. Don't know if true but it was one of their sales people who told me it the knife in my original question was made/imported by Camillus to be sold to Onario. Not trying to pitch either of the aforementioned companies just trying to ask a question an say what I was told.

The "Wildfire" models were the ones with the aluminum handles with the safety system that locked the blade in the closed position.
None of these were sold marked "Camillus" before the bankruptcy auction. Remington did buy their "Swift-Lokt II" versions from us prior to that.
They were made by the same Taiwan vendor that made the "Heat" series & in my opinion were great knives for the money.

The ones marked "Ontario" were knives STOLEN from the Taiwan Vendor by a former Camillus Salesman! (IMHO of course! :p:jerkit:)
Ontario was in no way party to, or aware of, this deplorable behavior.

The "Spanish" ones are very cheap Chinese knock-offs instigated by a former Camillus Salesman! (IMHO of course! :p:jerkit:)

All rather sad really.

Another shame is that Cheaper tha____ passes these off as genuine Camillus. Even more surprising is that SM__ does the same. They had the black handled one I mentioned priced at 29.99 but i got it for 20.00 on a slow day there.

Ahhhhh Phil! Miss that witty charm of yours. I'm sure that "former Camillus Salesman" will get his one of these days! (IMHO, of course!)
