Probably because it is reminiscent of the Becker TacTool only in SS

Camilus Carnovore X
$20 at [an online dealer who does not have a BF dealer membership]

The old version of this suffered from broken tangs due to the placement of some pins in the partial tang.

This one appears to be full tang without pins and just a molded handle. I don't know why I want it, I think the look just appeals to me. I can see that I'm going to cave very soon.

This is the one that seems to have a catastrophic design flaw in the handle

I just watched a youtube torture test and it held up to some major abuse without any type of catastrophic failure, obviously there was edge damage in this test but nothing that could not be sharpened. Watch this on it.

It has a partial chisel grind, the small vertical portion of the blade does not appear to be sharpened.

:) If a knife appeals to you and you can afford it , go for it . It seems pretty sturdy . Enjoy !

Go for it ! If it appeals to you, buy it and see Howe it goes. It will probably function fine and for 20 bucks, why not ? I have a Gerber Kukri machete that is great. Do what YOU want...

I've got one , and for the money I think it's great. It sharpens easily, seems to stand up to everything I've put it up against so far (chopping medium sized branches and sticks), and the saw is surprisingly effective.

For $20 I highly recommend it.

They may not have any gimmicks going on, but the quality to price ratio you get with them takes away anything this carnivore thingy could off
I have a pile of Imacasa's of all sizes so.....

Not that this would be even as good as an Imacasa, but it just looks sexy. I'm a sucker for sexy.
If you've already got a bunch of good stuff, then go ahead and get this thing to beat around on.
I used to do that as a kid with cheapo Bowie and survival type knives. We'd basically get them knowing they weren't very good and thrash on them till they failed.
