Camo Arctic 1

It is a one of a kind custom shop piece. Battle Mistress class, 1/4", one of a kind coating.

I though they were ground from 3/16s stock with white crinkle coat?

Any idea on pricing?

This is not part of the run you're thinking of...it was a one of a kind piece. I'm pretty sure it was $1,300, that's the buy price I was offered way back in the day.

Thank you Dark Nemesis,

Then what is Scott describing in this thread??

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=316389&highlight=arctic

That was part of an overrun Jerry sold at Blade one year

Then why does Scott advertise his as "forward serrations"?

Is this because they slant forward?

And not because they are located at the front of the blade?

What is the knife on the left of the Vasco Wear Fighter?

Sorry for all the questians, I appreciate the help.

All of the 3/16" Arctic Camo BM's had forward slanted serrations. However I seem to remember Skunk having one or two that were unlike the rest sold at Blade. He may have had a couple with the serrations on the forward section of the blade, still forward slanting obviously...then again he may have just been referring to the forward slant. I took his pics from that post but can't find them at the moment.

That was a long long time ago....

To the left of the Vasco? Dude, that's the Arctic Camo :)

Thanks! If you could find those pictures that would be great but don't worry about it if it becomes a hastle.

DOhhhhh: I mean the right side of the VWF, sorry. Hey I'm right... Wrong picture!

The reason I ask is because I need a winter camp knife and an Arctic Camo 1 would foot the bill perfectly.

To the right is a one of a kind piece in Jerry's personal collection called the Ruger Bowie.

Winter camp knife? Well, I don't have any experience but you might want to reconsider having a snow white knife as your survival blade for the winter:) You would only need to cover the handle to have a hell of a time finding it...at least I'd imagine so.

There is a huge gap between needing a knife to blend into your surroundings for purpose driven reasons and needing a kife to survive certain environmental conditions.

You raise excelent points but I still like the Arctic white

I realize you are right and I am wrong, but it's just so cool! :D

Dark Nemesis, in your personal experience, is it "better" to have the serrations on the front of the blade or the back? I realize that ones on the front would be better in a fight, but speaking from a strictlly utilitarian sidepoint, what do you prefer?

I can't answer your question due to my lack of personal experience with this type of serrations in real-world applications. I would imagine as with anything it would depend on the knife's intended purpose.

I guess I will have to try some flying serrations and form my own conclusions. In the first picture you posted (thanks), if it is a mil-overrun, where is the name of the unit? Or was it asked to be left out?

Does this particular version have a name?

You're almost never going to see such information on overruns sold. It does not have any name beyond the Artic Camo Battle Mistress.

I take it the EU-17 on my EU-17 Magnum is the exception that makes a rule?

Sorry but I had to ask, do you have one of these (Or know someone that does)?

Yes, it would be an exception. If you take in in context of probably over two dozen military overruns that did not have those marking it is way in the minority.
