I noticed that the pattern on the camo military's scales seems to be a superficial layer on top of the scales. It seems like with normal wear and tear the camo pattern would fade over time.

Has anyone had one of these camo pattern millies that can comment on the durability of the pattern on the scales? Hopefully it won't wear off because the color of the scales underneath isn't aesthetically pleasing at all. :barf:

as long as you keep the g10 away from belt sanders, you should be fine...

Ok that's what I was hoping. I was thinking that surely spyderco wouldn't just "print" the pattern on the G10 but I wasn't sure. I am glad that it is actually part of the G10, and not just ink or dye on top. Thanks.

If it was like that it would never have been so popular. Most G10 looks like that. http://www.kmts.co.za/ProductImage.asp

It is actually the top few layers of the G10 where the camo is layered.

As dinozzo said. Just dont take it close to the belt sander. Normal wear and tear should not take the pattern away.

Now go get yourself that Camo and tell us how you like it!

Just to clarify further, Spyderco makes and assembles the knives. The G10 is made elsewhere.

The camo pattern on the Military is in fact digital camo cloth that lies beneath the texture (top) layer of the G-10. Each pattern on these knives will be different because they are cut from different sections of cloth.
