I wanted to get out in the woods and try my hand at a natural shelter build. Something I could put together with what the woods had available.

This area of the woods has a lot of dead fallen trees and branches. When you first walk in you notice the amount of dead fall. I am thinking this is going to be easy!

The labor it takes is taxing for sure and once you start clearing all the nice straight stuff you have to start walking further and further for resources.

The 92 degree heat didnt help either. I didnt get as far as I would have liked.

Very cool post man. I have been thinking about getting one of the GBs smaller than my SFA for my pack. I've played with a friend's Wildlife Hatchet some and like it a lot. How do you like the pocket bellows?

Pocket bellows is a great little piece of kit. Especially with small wood burning stoves like the emberlit. Thanks!

I have a couple of them. I put a weatherproof fire kit, with everything included in Alayna's pack, and I have a pocket bellows alone and some of the fuses in mine. I haven't used the bellows yet, but I have played with it enough to now I will like it when the time comes. So far I am liking the Epiphany products very much, and Austin seems like a great guy to deal with who really cares about the gear he produces.

The GFB wildlife hatchet is a awesome piece of kit. Ive flat abused mine, and it just keeps going

Very nice pics ! I liked a lot the shots with the toad (?) :). The Gränsfors hatchets are a truly classic and rather popular here as well. I am considering to get one soner or later to replace (and upgrade) my beaten Fiskars X5. I’m torn between a Gränsfors and a Toporsib though. Thanks for posting :)!

I put together a video of my little adventure. Give it a look and if you dig it please subscribe.
