I thought I would post an in process pic of BushcraftBrainTrust`s Camp Cleaver. It`s 11" overall, 6 1/4" blade, 1/4" thick. It has the handle profile of the Anniversary Knife, and will have orange G10 handles.

Wow, nice grinds John. I think those steep convex grinds will be great. Don't forget the #5.:D

Already stamped it  I still need to order the handle material, which I will do this week. I`ll be heat treating it next weekend with a batch of blades. This thing is a monster!

What are the overall specs? I am thinking of designing a cooking/camp knife, but this may be better.

BIG. We originally talked about .25" thickness, 6.25" blade, 4.75" handle, and a 4" tall blade. John can give you exacts, but that should be close.

Looks like a great camp tool.
I hope that we get to see some photos of the cleaver in action.

wow.. that thing is a beast.. very cool John...

I like it. Won't be much you can't chop up with that.

I can't wait to see it finished!

Thanks, it is a beast and should be able to chop as well as hatchet and give additional knife utility. Don't worry Sharp Eye, I'll post lots of pictures (this is my design after all:thumbup:). I already sometimes use my Anniversary Knife in the kitchen, and I think the Camp Cleaver will get at least half its use there as well.

Wow! I like this better than the hatchets because of the increased blade length. If the edge isn't too obtuse, it could be a mean slicer when sharpened up. Harder to do with the shorter face of a hatchet.

Carrying that sucker is another story!
