What started out as a potentially wet hike turned out to be another summer day in New York—humid and hot!

The hike in was damp and Jay was hopeful…

Where’s my rain?

Scandinavian Trio

Quick coffee on the super-cat alcohol stove

Lunch fire

Juicy G made his first fire…

He wasn’t just cooking food, he was brewing up some of his own juices in the windbreaker…in 85F!

We went lightweight on our tools…

New Possibles Pouch from Mexico

Mora Basic 511, but better!

I cut off most of the guard, trimmed down the back guard, filed down the extra pommel protrusion, and cut off the silly Mora sheath stacker thing too.

Juicy used his green companion

Jay felt that juicy owed him some more rice, so…

This part of the forest was upside-down

Jay is a busse guy now…

Nice pics:thumbup: I like the 511 mod. If the sanded part is a little rough or "whitish", a heat gun or lighter will melt the flakes back onto the handle and clean it up. I did it with my Hultafors GK after a drastic handle mod.

good stuff, rb! my buddy got lucky he got that cool nickname - juicy g, haha...could've been way worse with that green mora of his stuck in the ground.

been busy so i will post my pics in a day.

my pics...i didn't take many because i was too busy eating and doing the rain dance hoping for a down pour.

we just wandered around until we found this perfect spot for a future overnighter...plenty of bear poop in the area though so going to have to bring bear spray in this area.
