Screenshot_20171109-103529.pngHi everyone.
Here is a custom i made for the novembet 5th NCCA knife show in marlboro Ma.
Unfortunately it did not sell, which means you guys can check it out and get first dibs. (Or just appreciate a cool camp knife)

Steel: CPM 3V 0.187
HRC: 61. by Peters
Handles: forest green G10/ CF pins
The blade is 7.5 inches and the handle is about 5.5-6.
It has a forward choil for close up control and detail work. It has been rounded and smoothed out for comfort.
This blade has a full high convex grind that has been ground for maximum cuttibg performance. I think the edge is 15-20 thousandths i havent measured. But it is nice and thin without being too delicate. Should chop and slice nicely and be pretty durable. Its surprisingly light and nimble. Here are a few pictures. Need to take more when i get home.

Let me know what you think!

It's s combination of the convex grind and the short clip that makes it look strange. Bringing the point up half the distance to the top of the blade or non at all might change the look. Right now it looks like it was an after thought.

Oh ok. I see what you mean.
This was ground similar to the Kaiju bowie, but has a shorter clip. It was ground like this to maintain tip strength. I do see what you mean that it does look like an after thought.
I plan on keeping this model in my offered blades. I i may make the clip longer on the next one by an inch or so, and ease up on the abrupt change.

The grind and shape looks like a good performer to me, especially if it is thin behind the edge. I would consider adding a bit more drop to the handle or overall arc to the blade, keep a tiny shoulder/flats to show off your grind lines, less convex, longer clip or market it as an extra strong tip with some performance videos. That full convex is nice but I think just a tiny bit of flat would look more purposeful. Nice work!

Thanks!
I wi try to get some videos of it soon and post. Thanks for the consructive criticism. I Will likely use it for the next one!
I will have to grab a new camera to post a vid and redo the edge. It wasnt up to par for me. It should be razor sharp once my new belts come in.
