Okay all,
When this thing was officially made a "go" we set a deadline for submission for the end of September. And here it is! So here are where things stand.
I currently have 6 knives in my possession (Laconico, Koster, Culberson, Koyote, Stomper and Noshtero). I know that many others are currently enroute.
I have started taking photos of what I do have, and getting some of the "feature" documentation out of the way.
The timing of the arrival of these knives lines up well with my one major vacation for the fall. I am leaving tomorrow to go hiking/backpacking in the Adirondacks. I will be returning the following Saturday (10/10). My "week off" will be perfect for allowing the final entries to trickle in.
When I return on that Saturday, what has been delivered is what is going to be tested. And, I will begin the testing right away. Unless there is an extenuating circumstance, or problem with a delivery from Canada (sometimes shipping can be crazy). If you have an extenuating circumstance, please get a hold of me soon.
I just wanted to let everyone know where things stand. Once the testing gets going, please be patient. I know we are all SUPER excited about this, as I am, but I want it to be worthy of the effort that the knifemakers have put into this. Testing is the easy part. Documenting it clearly and in an entertaining manner is what will be the time consuming part.
FINAL NOTE TO MAKERS
The first part of my write up is going to be a review of the features, intention and design of each knife. I have asked then when you submit a knife to me, you give me as much detail as possible. Steel, length, thickness, handle material, grind, finish (belt or hand), your thoughts on the design or any other relevant details you think are important.
Some have provided me this info, and some have not. This is your opportunity to showcase your stuff. Write pages and pages of detail if you want. I realize that pictures and design detail has been dispersed through other postings, but I think all involved would like to have it summarized (and in greater detail) along with the rest of final test posting.
Also, I do not have time to search through pages of old threads, and multiple posts to gather this on all these knives. So, if you want it included (and everyone should) please do this for me.
If you are one of the ones that has not provided me any info, please e-mail this info to me at briangandrews at comcast dot net.
Thanks,
B
