I'm looking for opinions on a new camp knife.Basically the pros & cons of the two mentioned.1095 vs. A2 their grinds & corrosion resistance, ergonomics, comfortable sheathing system & overall performance.

I was looking for a 6"-7" full bellied non-stainless blade with a full tang & narrowed it down to these two.I'm looking for objective opinions only.

Thanks for your helpful input:)

[edited by me to add]It's a Ontario Knives RAT-7 not RC7

I don't own either but I'v heard Ontario's F&F is usually way off. I also happen to love the A2 in my bravo-1, much better than 1095 IMO, better edge retention and corrosion resistance. Convex edges are also better than a flat grind, easier to sharpen and they cut better too. A closer comparison would probably be the RC-6 when they come out, They're supposed to be better by leaps and bounds over Ontario.

That's tough. I own a Canadian Camp but not an RC knife. I do have a RAT-3 in D2 which I despise because of its D2 steel.

I'm partial to Barkies and I'll stop right here, because this opinion certainly is not objective.

The Ontario is a good solid knife, but the Bark River is a step up in terms of fit, finish, and blade steel.

Thanks for the feedback guys:thumbup:

I think I'm gonna go with the BR CCK.I just wanted some opinions (mostly) on the RAT-7.It looks like a helluva chopper:D
