First off I'm a muk freak. I love that style blade. Does fiddlebacks make the camp muk in 3v? If not, why not?

Also if you have some muk pics, please share!!!!

As far as I know, the only knives that have been done in 3v are the production Camp Knife.

For pics of Fiddleback muks of all types, checkout out the Hump Day thread.

I don't believe Andy has ever used 3v for custom blades. Currently the production camp knives are made in 3v with the other production models produced in s35vn.

I think all bigger knives 5"+ should be in 3V. I was surprised Duke made form S35Vn. however Camp Nessie looks and used more as "big knife" . I also agree that if any production will be made CPM 3V is a good choice for it. Production Camp Nessie is a good choice to.

Sorry to bump an older thread but has there been any talk of a production camp Nessie? Take my money now please.

Sorry for missing this post. There isn't much of a chance of seeing any hand ground Fiddlebacks in 3V. We used it on the camp muk because I didn't have to grind that. LOL. I have made one knife in 3V. Never sold it, and it sits in my chest with my collection. I hated grinding 3V.

Most knifemakers are either hollow or flat grinding. This is more suited for 3v because there is a hard backer behind the belt and you can use a lot of pressure. Convex grinding on a rotary platen is done with feather light pressure. This is why most makers fold the belt over the back of the knife creating an ugly grind line. Too much pressure. Anyway 3V laughs at this. So its just not suitable for our convex.

Does anyone know the next models to be made in the production line? Any chance of a Camp Muk?
