Hello y'all. I'm looking for a Fixed blade that can do it all. Mostly tactical and camp. I'll be making feather sticks with it , batoning wood with it, lite prying with it (I know I know.)
Here are my requirements.
Full tang.
Blade between 5 to 7 inches.
No recurve in the blade. (Like the schrade schf 10 has.)
Stainless or carbon steel.
Good at stabbing.
UNDER 80$!
No serrated edges.
Thanks for the help.
Chris.

+1 on the BK-7. I carry that and a Bravo-1 into the woods on most occasions, and both are quite serviceable in multiple functions.

I would definitely recommend the Beckers if you want a primarily camp knife. The standard KaBar (USMC or the modern iteration) if you want a to tilt the spectrum a bit more towards the tactical end. Any of them will work just fine in all of the required roles, however.

If you want something less expensive, consider the Condor line. The Bushlore is no slouch in the strength and utility department. It's more knife than the blade length suggests. The Rodan might be another option. That's one I don't have. I have the Bushlore, Kephart, Hudson Bay, and a number of their chopping machines.

Knew this sounded familiar. Thanks Marcinek. I suspect you have plenty of choices. Good luck to you.

Ya same dude. I can't figure out how to delete the first one. I learned a lot from the old one. Now I know what I want but needed opinions on the best blade for the buck.

Well. Since you asked for suggestions under 60 in that other thread, Chris, all the suggestions there will apply here.

My guess is that the BK-7 would be a better stabber based on the grind (more pointy). It is a pretty large knife. Something like the BK-17 would be easier to yield. Basically you want as pointy a blade as reasonably possible and still maintain good strength for camping, woods craft, and woods bumming. The traditional woods craft blade design (such as the Condor Bushlore) lends itself to stabbing if necessary.

Your current request almost defines the Becker blades for the most part.

Yep I've pretty much decided on the BK 7. I was going to buy an Ontario but I saw a video on another forum of one breaking in half from lite batoning.

In every way the BK-7 is the perfect choice for your usage, but make sure you take a look at it so you can decide whether you like the look or not. If you do, then consider micarta slabs for it (not necessary, but nice). Comes with a good sheath.

Hey anybody have any experience with Godspeed sheaths? I want a kydex sheath but there a little pricey. Also what about 710 sheaths? And there handles?

will the factory screws from the grivory handles fit the micarta slabs?
