I need your help in deciding on a camp/utility knife. Having followed the forum discussions and through personal research, I have narrowed the field to four knives:
1. Becker Brute
2. MM Survival Bowie
3. CS Bush Ranger
4. Kabar Next Generation #1272
I know that I am all over the map in these choices. I currently have a SOG seal pup for the smaller jobs, but am looking for the right knife for the bigger camp chores.
Thanks,
Scott

Get the MMHW. The Survival Bowie is on my list, but I have a large camp knife from Ted, and it's hard to beat for a big blade. They are designed specially to take abuse. The price for a handmade knife is unheard of too, and the turnaround is only a couple weeks.

MM Survival Bowie, definitely.

I say support a man with a phenomenonal guarantee.

And I have been Eyeing that knife for a very long time.

I just got a Bush Ranger in a trade. The blade is awesome!!!! I touched up the edge in 5 minutes and it is shaving sharp. The point would do well for finer tasks and the edge has a great curve in it. A real cutter, for sure. I am actually mulling over the idea of selling it, as I am saving for somethign else. If I decide to sell, I'll shoot you an e-mail. If you have any other questions about the knife, e-mail me. By the way, you have a great list there!

You should consider a Fallkniven A-1 while you're at it, its heavy enough for your needs....and it feels real good in hand.

I'll second the Fallkniven, but from your list I'd go with the Becker Brute. I have the Magnum Camp and I'm impressed.
