Camp Viking

Wicked cool, looks like a great hangout. My wife just asked if I would ''build her one''.
I just noticed your location, how's the weather in the 'skills? I grew up in Roscoe/Livingston Manor area and we started to get pretty badly snowed in around this time of year when I was little.

Great !! I think many of us have an inbuilt urge that can manifest itself in things like that.

The camp was built from leftover crap I had laying around. The posts are old split rail. Tarp pegs are re-rod. Tarp used to cover my tractor. Chimea I bought for the wife long ago. The patio was an old concrete shed foundation I uncovered.

It works well for her, blocks the wind & weather. Radiates enough heat back in to keep it relatively warm(it was 13 degrees last night she stayed toasty). It worked well enough I may "Remodel" in the spring. We have had three high wind storms here in December and so far it's staying together.

To answer your question, we have not had much snow yet but it's right around the corner. It's been warm so the lake are warm still that always brings snow. Click on the snow pictures in my gallery to see some from years past.

Build your wife one as fast as you can. A woman that has interest in something like this is a keeper. Nothing beats a fire, the stars or a snow storm, a beer and someone special to share it with.
