Here is a camper model made for Todd of Shadetree Custom Laminates

This knife was ordered as a gift for some one else. I certainly hope they like it when they get it.

The bolsters are stabilized maple burl and are secured with hidden pins. The scales are denim laminate made by Todd. Kinda weird but cool.

The steel is 1084 forged and flat ground.

no, not weird at all!, the denim actually complements, especially with what appears to be bluing on the blade. in any case i think it is a fine knife!
 
I suppose I am weird enough that I don't see anything weird with this one. :D

Looks just right to me...to bad it is not mine to keep.

Todd to be clear I do think the materials compliment each other. I also think I did a good job with the cunstruction. ;) But I would never had thought to do this myself. sometimes one needs a little shove outside of the ol box. :p
 
I got the knife in Friday Will.

Please excuses my delay not back with you sooner. This was busy weekend and the family had a boatload of open houses and visiting to do.

This is a great design and it is finely made. I sure like it and I think the ultimate recipient will get a lot of use in camp. It is a bit big for me, but it is going to a bigger guy than I. It may not get to him for a while...it seems like the birthday this is slated for is in August.

I'll let you know what he says when I get the feddback.

This made it to the ultimate recipient Friday and he was very impressed and more than pleased with it.:thumbup:

As I think I told you Will, his sister wanted it made for his 50th birthday next month. She was in town this week and wanted to give it to him early, while she was here.

I ran into him at a picnic yesterday and he seemed tickled pink and he told me he was looking forward to using it on his annual fishing trip coming up soon near Cadillac.

If I get any feedback from him in the future, I will try to remember to pass it on to you.:thumbup:
