I wanted this book for a few years. Emails to the publishers, watching the prices rise on amazon from 30 bucks to 120. But I waited. They must have made a run last year because that's when I got mine. Great book, so glad it's back in print.
 
I can't do those books brother. I tried to read a bunch of that old stuff like Nessmuck's book and stuff like that, but I just can't do it.
 
this one is chock full of pictures. Really interesting reads. You should see some of the trunks they carried with them.

I can understand what you mean. I read them for the "nostalgia" more than anything else. Like reading a story, more than a "how too". Still good info, just seems so out of date.
 
Nothing like a steamer trunk full of waxed canvas and sisal rope to make for a nice ultralight setup.

Good info - I always like to see the older version technology. There is always something to take away.
