Ok, so I have some money now and I'm looking for something to spend my money on. I've been looking at the BM140HS/HSSR. I would pretty much only use it when I'm camping, so I'm wondering how useful a camping knife is.

I already have a BM940 which works fine for EDC, but would the 140 be worth it just for camping?

Also, would you reccomend the serations for it if it's just for camping? I wouldn't usually get serations on a knife, but I do use knives for "heavier" things while camping.

Thanks in advance,
Mangeepants.

P.S. Where would you reccomend to buy a knife online besides Newgrahams?

Here is a link to an article about "The Perfect Hunting Knife". Click on the box on the left side called "articles" and his very detailed PDF file will pop up which you can save to reread at a later date.

You might want to check out the SOG revolver-H, it's a really great knife... in fact, it is just about the only knife I ever use back in the woods. Check out the SOG forum if you are interested, there is a lot more information there. :)

I bought a 140HS for camping last year. It's taken a full year of experimentation to get the handle (and sheath) right. NIB the finger choil is way to deep to get a good grip for push cuts, and it digs into your hand when holding it backwards.
I wrapped mine in vet wrap and soaked it in epoxy, making sure to fill the choil with an extra pice of wrap so the handle became even the whole way down.
The blade is almost perfect. My only complaint is that I messed mine up.
(chopping coat hangers will make any blade ugly, no matter how tough  )
