Here is my new "camping" knife. Whay camping? It is strong and pretty heavy. Good enough to chop the firewood and stuff like that.
A2 steel hardened to 59-60HRC
Blade is 6" by 1/4", flat ground. Satin finish with 600grit and steel wool.
Handle - black walnut.
Bolster and pommel - silver nickel, some engraving on them.
Sheath - leater with some carving.

Wow is right, bet I wouldn't use it at camp for anything other than to stare at..

Good thing you didn't make a nice knife, I would'nt be able to stan looking at it:foot:
Cheers Ron.

I would affirm the earlier comments: that's one of the prettiest camp knifes I've ever seen. The detail work on the bolster/pommel/sheath are beautiful!

Hats off!

Beautifully crafted Dmitry !!
That pattern on the handle fittings is that etching or carving ?

Either way it is stunning :-o

Very nice! That's some really pretty work.

I just got a Becker BK-5 that is going to fill that role.

Not nearly as elegant, but surely functional.

I like the looks of that one. The dark walnut you don't see often and it looks great contrasting with the nickel silver That is one of those knives that you just want to pick up.

Thank you Hmathews, I really appreciate your attention. Your carved knifes are just amasing.

Thank you Joe. No I am not camping at Hilton or Radisson. I just like to name things as they are made. I would not mind use this knife in camping. It could be beautiful and all covered with diamonds, but it is stiil knife. That particulary one is tough and heavy. Just right for general camp duties.
If it would be with too thin carved blade or weak handle or it will get uncleanable dirty I would call it collectable knife and possibly piece of Art if it is beautiful. But if it could be used... why not?
I might undervalue my work, but it is just knife with engraved pommel and bolster for me. Knife is tool. It should work. Otherwise it is like a picture. Just to look at.

I do not know how tough are those beautiful bowies and other knifes I see here. As well as I don't know if someone uses them or not. My point is I make knifes suitable for work indefinitely of their beauty.
