Becker BK's, that is. Okay, so we didn't go out into the wild blue yonder, but we did go to a campground in southern Illinois, at Rend Lake. Had a great time, and finally got a chance to use some of my blades.
Here's what I had with me. BK9, BK2, Mora MG, CS American Lawman, BK14, KA-BAR Dozier folder, and my KFU wide blade EDC:
The wood I had was already split, so I made some kindling with my 9:
Threw the kindling on some dry pine needles. I wanted to use my KFU custom with the firesteel. This thing has a wicked squared spine, and I knew it would throw out the sparks. It didn't disappoint. That's a cheapo firesteel too:
Can you see the horse's head in the flames?
Used the BK2 for more kindling at a later time. This is busting the BK2's cherry:
Smoke in the sun light. Just thought it looked cool:
Okay, let's eat something. We'll put the BK14 to work:
Slice up a little bit of bell pepper:
A little onion:
A few potatoes:
Fry up the peppers and onions in a little olive oil, and potatoes and onions in a skillet. (I know, roughing it, lol):
Throw some sweet Italian sausage on the fire. Normally I don't use foil, but on an outdoor grill that others use, and birds probably shit on, um, yeah:
The result:
Damn, just about forgot the ketchup:
Bon appetit!
After dinner toothpick:
Hot apple pie in an iron over the fire for dessert:
YUM:
Some parting shots. King of the rising sun:
