Greetings,
Except there’s no serial number on the BF knife, is it a Limited Edition or not?

Many Thanks,
Aryan

In my opinion, either "Limited Edition" and/or "Special Factory Order", (SFO) would fit/be appropriate.
"Limited Edition" because it is different from the standard production, and only a limited number are/will be made.
"Special Factory Order" because they were ordered specifically for only the limited number of BF members who can afford and want one or two?

The features of the BF knife will never be standard production. :)

summarizing your response
“A Limited Edition Special Factory Order”
:);)

I might be mistaken and I don't have time to check right now but I seem to remember that my 2018 Buck 301 Forum Knife came in a Buck Limited Edition box.

No, I think it had some paper/certificate with it instead? Mine didn't but I couldn't care less as the knife is a greatly liked user.

Surely having the BF tang-stamp is what makes it an SFO.

I don't think such terms are all that useful or meaningful. Calling something rare doesn't make it valuable or raise demand. if it did then nine out of ten eBay sellers would be gazillionaires.

Things that go into the making of special runs, etc. sometimes make a knife less desirable to a collector. There's a knife from the 70's that was semi-common then, but was frequently etched with commemorative stuff. Buy the etched knives now, Flitz off the etch, and resell at a tidy profit. Easy money.

In the case of the '18 BF Buck 301, the Spey blade delete, long pulls on both clip point main and sheepsfoot blades, Elk covers, and CPM154 blades also had a lot to with the SFO status. :)

We know it is a Special Factory Order (SFO), and each year it’s a once in a life time Knife, having exclusive features as per the specific requests of BF members.

(Would ebay sellers advertise a normal item as a Limited Edition?)

What is the definition of "limited" , with some makers it may be one of 5,000..500, 50 etc. Limited edition is a selling term to initiate a feeling of exclusivity. To really go the mile for limited, I guess a commissioned one of a kind custom build by a maker is about the best you can do, unless you can build it yourself...that is a truly limited knife.

You guys are right. It was just a standard yellow box with a tasteful little flyer inside.

I’ve got both my 2018 Buck’s, carry one and put one back, but I lost that little paper about The Porch the first day or two I had it! I far prefer knives without boxes or papers - then I don’t have to worry about losing them! OH

well...it is limited to just one production run. So in that sense, it is surely limited.
