My friend is selling a used tactical Remington 870 for $300 cuz he needs the cash, is that a good price? He put a picatinny rail, ghost sights, good quality red dot, extended mag (I think he said it was 6+1), shot shell carrier, and he has a sling for it. I've read that anywhere from 250-300 is a good deal but thats without all of the accessories. Advice... thanks guys

Given what you mentioned is included for the price, sounds pretty darn good to me. This assumes that it has been taken care of and hasn't been shot a lot (in other words, it must be in good shape), so look at it carefully.

He said he cleaned it obsessively, and that it was his baby so I think it was properly taken care of...

I have an 870 that sounds nearly identical to the one described. IMO that sounds like a deal.

Take the deal!!

On a side note, my 870 express is around 15 years old. I have cleaned it....get this...ONCE!! I have fired thousands and thousands of rounds through it. Even if he hasn't kept up with the cleaning, the damn thing is a tank. As long as you don't see any rust and it was stored indoors or in a proper humidity controlled environment, it will be fine. I rarely clean my shotguns or .22's, I know, it's abuse, but I do keep all my high-end artillery clean.

Yep, take it. I recently paid more than that for mine with fewer accessories.

If he's really a friend you might give more. The gun alone is worth it.

I paid $215 for mine, and its stock. Had to switch out the barrel from 26" to 18".

With all of the accessories, I say buy it. I mean, if you're into all that tactical stuff....

Very good deal.A basic 870 at wal mart runs over three.I gave 140.00 used for my 20 in rifled barrel.

I have bought and sold lots of 870s. That sounds like a great deal. I would grab it before he offers it to anybody else.

That sound like a great deal!!! What everyone else is saying:thumbup:, GRAB IT...

It's not "abuse" at all. I've seen more damage and unnecessary wear done to firearms because of overzealous cleaning, than lack of. Properly lubed, a quality firearm doesn't need to be "white glove inspection" clean.
Unless I'm shooting ammo with corrosive primers, I clean my firearms much less than I used to when I first got into firearms.
Of course this is a different story when in uniform, but that is their rules that I follow - not mine.

To the OP, that sounds like a pretty decent deal on the 870. I'd grab it if it is in decent condition.

Amazing deal. Guns will go up this year due to being a election year. Your friend is crazy for selling it. Let alone that cheap.

That sounds like a horrible deal. Give me his name ad number and I will have a talk with him. ;)

Sounds good. If you don't want to buy it, email me, I might be able to help him out:)

Seriously.
