Can a Loose Pivot Cause Vertical Blade Play?

I purchased a SOG Twitch II and the pivot is kind of loose. I have horizontal and vertical blade play. I was wondering if tightening up the pivot will stop the vertical blade play. Thanks guys.

It does on the Sog. I have a twitch I keep in one of my tool kits and it always had blade play until one day I cranked the blade down until it would not open up any more and backed it off an 1/8 to a 1/4 turn and its like a new knife. And this was after I took it apart and replaced the spacer/washers with bronze ones trying to fix the blade play and let me tell ya those things are real bastards to put back together with the spring they use for the assist action.

What size is the pivot screw? How about the body screws? thanks.
