Can a "Loose Wave" be tightened?

I recently received a Leatherman Wave as a gift. I've used the original Leatherman for many years and enjoyed it. My problem is that the serrated knife blade and the file on this new tool are noticably loose. The other blades and tools are nice and tight. The Wave has a screw of sorts holding it together - can this be tightened (by me)? The tool wasn't purchased locally.

Hey Larry...

Yes they can be tightened,,either by the factory,,or if you can find someone who has a set of Tamper Proof Torx drivers...

Not too many people have them,,so you may want to look into buying a set or just send it away...

Or....Just live with the loose tool...

That's not entirely right. The screws on the Wave are NOT tamperproof torx. Torx are a 6 pointed star pattern, the ones used on the Wave have only 5 stars. I've tried everything, but I haven't been able to find bits that fit these.

I tried to loosen mine actually, and couldn't find anyone who carried a 5-pointed tool with a hole in the center either. I e-mailed Leatherman and they said that there is no tool for the consumer that will fit those screws. Basically you'd have to send it in to be adjusted.
