I've exhaused most resources. I've searched high and low on the web, stores etc. The knives I own just don't quite CUT it. So here are my standards:

-Fixed
-preferably made in USA (few exceptions)
-6" blade range
-3/16" width range
-Not stainless
-No finger choil above hilt
-coated blade
-flat ground or close to it
-drop point preferably
-price is not of concern

Any ideas???

Contact any number of makers here on the forum and they will make it to perfection.

i've looked into that as well, but I haven't found any that do an anti-reflective coating

Scott Gossman does (or has done) a ferric acid forced patina.

Busse custom shop also does coated blades.

I'm sure there are many others.

An ESEE Junglas and have someone cut 4 inches off of it?

It's the choil that's the problem. I hear that.

The Ranger Shiv doesn't sound too far off. If I'm right getting Justin to do a tweaked one shouldn't be difficult.

cruise the Makers section, fixed blades.

Find a blade smith that you consistently like his work. Email him and put the question to him.

If that is really the case, I would find a maker that nearly fits the bill, and have a custom made. Your specs are nearly opposite of each other in there at least twice compared to everything that is production run in my mind. You will not meet those specs without a custom job IMO.

Some close ones that come to mind,
BK2 (too thick, too short)
Randall 28(not coated, too short)
BUSSE (almost guaranteed too thick)
Original Ka-Bar (too long)

SHORT ka-Bar.

What about a Busse Boss Jack? I think the stats are close to what you want and they did sell coated no choil versions.

This one does have a choil.

I'll also have to say the Busse Boss Jack Proto, they also came in double cut choil, no choil, small choil. I've got a large choil great knife style and size.

Your custom maker could always send the blade off to get coated and then finish it up. I've heard great things about Birdsong coatings.

contact a reputable knifemaker (there are plenty of them around these forums) and get one custom made to your exact specifications.

as for the coating, i'm sure you can get a carbon steel blade powdercoated pretty easily.
