I found a benchmade 9100 in my friends car. I don't know too much about folding knives, but I figured I might know a little more than my friend and offered him five dollars for it and he accepted. It looks nothing like the ones I see online though. It is incredibly basic seeming, having what looks like just two pieces of stamped metal with holes in it for the handle, and the locking mechansm is one of those pieces of metal inside the handle you push aside to allow the blade to fold down. In comparison to the models I see on the Benchmade website, it seems downright primitive. Can anybody tell me about this? Thanks a lot in advance!

yeah, it'd be best to get some photos.

Do you live in the USA? I remember when I lived in Vietnam I found fake Chinese benchmades all over the place. I don't even remember seeing any fake spydies or kershaws....

A 9100 is a Stryker, which is nothing like you described. If it's a real BM, what you described sounds like a Leopard (625?), a long discontinued model.
