Can anyone furnish links to view the bolster and buttcap on a typical khukuri?

Almost cured, guys...! I could not find specific photos for the buttcap and bolster before they are soldered, and integrated into knife itself. I'd most assuredly be cured if I had several high resolutions photos showing thse components laying flat, flipped over, and on their sides. Also, any idea as to the weight of a typical bolster and buttcap? Thanks a lot for all your help. :)

Look in the ugly duckling thread for the pic I posted where the handle got whacked...

You can see a loose buttcap as well as the tang covered in laha and a bone fragment still stuck under the bolster.

Typically, these pieces are thin stock that are hammered to shape. Sometimes the brazing (soldering) works great, other times it leaves a line on top of the bolster - on brass bolsters, this has a copper-ish color.

Khukuris that have buttplates are just that - plates that have been drilled and fitted over the end of the tang and then peened to fit. Sometimes the buttplates are larger than others...that sounds funny...

"Hey Honey...?!? Does this handle make my buttplate look big?"

 :D

Anyway, the pieces are easily polished and can get a mirror finish with the right tools.
