Hello All,
I was wanting to pick up a Moore Maker Trapper Knife on E-bay & was hoping for some information. I can't seem to find any current information. on production. I notice that some are marked Moore & Maker on the bolsters, while others aren't. Are the bolster stamps a mark of better quality vs. economy models. I also notice some with a letter code, is there a way to tell the manufacturer? I know they aren't actually made in Texas but I've never handled one. I know they won't be GEC quality, would I be better off buying a production Case Trapper.

As always any help is appreciated.

You’d be better off with a Case. At least you would know who made it, what it’s made out of and where to send it if it needs work.

Some of the older Moore Maker slipjoints were made by Queen. Utica was another company who made knives for Moore Maker. I believe Camillus made some for them too.

Actually I spoke with Mr. Moore this time last year and they were having models made by Case. A large trapper #5202C (54 pattern) a medium stockman #5301C (18 pattern) and more recently a large stockman with yellow bone #5302C (75 pattern). I have an example of the trapper. Nicest Moore Maker since the Queen made versions.

Great! Thanks for posting this.

Pics or it didn't happen

I was hoping you could show the one you have.
Well. That’s a fair request. I’ve not been active on here in some time and can’t attach pictures like I use to… something about maximum number of attachments. Apologies.

Its a forum wide issue with much discussion.
Go to the Tech Support section and read through the threads.

The large yellow bone stockman on their site sure does look like a Case large stockman.

Hello Everyone,
I appreciate the responses. I think I'll end up going for a Case Bonestag Trapper. Thanks for all of the help.
