Hi Paul. How thick is the rubber being cut and what is the backing material the cutting edge will contact while cutting it?

the rubber is about 3/8" thick.the backing material is a plastic with a durometer of 70A.some of the rubber will be slightly thicker or thinner.i would like to use a shaft 1/2" or 5/8" to hold the cutter.thanks for your help. Paul

Paul,
Try a Grainger industrial supply store or similar store. If not, try a wallpaper store.
You will need an industrial roller cutter to satisfactorily accomplish your goal. The pizza cutter handles will not hold up to the force required to drive the roller. It will be easier to have the blade sharpened to the desired condition on an industrial one than to have to keep replacing a broken pizza cutter. If you are committed to the pizza cutter, Try www.williamssonoma.com. They generally have the highest grade of cooking utensils. My company used to have to cut armaflex and rubatex sheets up to 1.5 " thick as well as mat material.
Good luck.

david i have tried Grainger and Mcmaster carr.i dont want a pizza cutter exactly.just something that looks sorta like that.i dont know what to call it besides a pizza cutter.

Paul,
Try the Thomas Register using the search term rubber cutter. I just did & it returned 23 product categories including "Cutters: Rubber" (33 companies) & "Knives: Rubber Cutting" (69 companies). Good luck.
