I recently received an old italian stilleto from my father perhaps purchased in mexico or california 30+ years ago. It is in pretty rough shape and i was hoping to get it back to working condition. The lever release isn't grabbing the blade, looks like it's missing a spring. anyone know of any replacement parts or a way to rig something, perhaps modify the underside of the handle scale to allow for this rigging to fit properly.

You knife is actually worth a professional restoration.
Any amateur repair will hurt the value. Don't "rig" anything!
You have already improperly removed the handle. Let a professional repair the knife.

It's hard to tell from your pictures, but it looks like the button spring leaf slips under the "ears" of the button pivot.
Others use a leaf spring that is riveted to the liner. You might try a coil spring under the button if you can't make a leaf spring.
