Can anyone help me identify this Latin Machete(?)

I am sorry if this is in the wrong place, it just seemed the most likely, but I do need help figuring out what this thing is. I know it is a little worn out, my dad used to use it for mainly yard work, and I used to play with it a bit when I was a kid. Any help is appreciated!
