I am trying to identify this. Is it a tourist knife? The images are at

Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated!

I can't see any maker's mark on the knife, and the lion doesn't look like any of the lions I have seen on regular tourist knives. It was said to have come from Borneo Islands from a tribe elder, but I don't know how accurate that info is.

Thank you!

Sorry, here is the pictures:

that looks like a really beat up tourist knife but I might be wrong the lion's head is usually a bad sign

Yes it is a Tourist Khukuri. The Lionhead Pommel is a dead giveaway.
These are made to be sold in Markets and bazzaars to tourists for them to take home as a souvenir. It is for hanging on the wall or mantlepiece. They arent made to do any real work. Most of them are not properly heat treated, if they are at all. Some of them are made well enough to do some light work, but i wouldnt go chopping much with it. They come in all sizes, with various decorative aspects, some of them quite well done, but the usable well made lionhead khukuri are very few and far between.

As this is not an H.I. related subject...I must move it to the Cantina.

Beat ya to it! :D

Nice looking souvenir, though.
