These were recovered from a knife makers home in Montana. I have been told they may have been produced between 1920-1950. These are far from my area of expertise, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a lot more to identify but will try not to overwhelm the thread. If anyone is really experienced with ka bars of that age i have about 30 all from same place and same time period all different with two ka bar hatchets.

Some information may be supplied but we really need much better pictures to provide more than a guess. There's a sticky at the top that explains what kind of pictures and info is needed.

That being said, from the stamp and blade shape of the WEST-CUT knife, it is a West-Cut K5 made by Western Cutlery out of Boulder Colo., and is essentially the same knife as the L66 also by Western. There is most likely a K5 stamp on the other side of the blade from what you posted. No patent number on the blade tells us it was made after 1952. The WEST-CUT K series came out in the late 1950s, probably in 1957. They first show up in the 1958 catalogs. They were not listed in the 1960 catalog reprints in The Knife Makers Who Went West.

The WEST-CUT line was intended to be a "cheaper" line of knives, but they were made the exact same way as the Western line.

i will take some good pictures with all the makers marks on them soon for better ID there is a lot of knives and they are all new to me. Ill check that sticky out . Thank you very much
