Hello All,
I'm new here so sorry if this is too much of a newbie question..

About 10 years ago while traveling in the Manila I purchased the knife in this pic :

It is about 19" overall with a 12" blade. There are no markings on either the blade or the sheath, but there is an "S" on the handle. Nothing else to mark it.

I have always assumed this is just a replica Japanese knock off sword, but was never sure. Now that I plan to sell this, I was wondering if anyone might know what it is and the approximate price I might ask for it. It's never been used and is still in new condition.

Thanks very much!

It's a copy of a Japanese tanto done in a modern style by Philippino knifemakers, they were sold here for a brief time by Catoctin Cutlery under the Vaciacraft label. Not sure on collectibility, but they were better than the cheap samurai copies one saw back then.

Thanks a lot for the info! That's very helpful. Yes, it's a nice knife. I wonder why they didn't put any markings on it though... But at least I found the right place (here) to get it identified!
