First off, don't blame Maureen Drake, she is just telling you what she is told to. She is a cool chick with a crappy job!

I asume you have front to back play, not side to side? If so, how far over does the lock move?

Why did you think a new thumb stud would help? Where did you get the thumbstud?

If all else fails, I will try to help you.......

yes its front to back not side to side . i got the thumb stud becouse its really a blade stop and i thought it might be bent so i ordered one from camilius some time back in early 2006 or late 2005 but it was not the stud. the lock is about in the middle of the blade but does not contack the blade if you push the lock over all the way it titens up more . but but the lock moves back to the middle again .thanks for any help by the way i no the ladys nice ive talk to her its just that i payed alot for it and befor they permenently close up id like to get it fixed . ive been wating over a year you can understand to cant you i hope you can sincerly ken

Sorry for the delay Nitestocker, I have been trying to track down an oversize thumb stud/stop pin for you.
However, such an oversize pin may cause other problems for you that are challenging to correct, namely having to change the angle of inclination of the lock surfaces. So let’s try the easy things first.

The first thing for you to try is to give the lock more set. Take the knife apart, I recommend taping up the edge for safety, and give the titanium lock bar more bend so it engages the blade more. This may make the knife a little harder to unlock, but will take away the blade front to back play.

Try this first. If the lock bar engages 100% of the blade, & you still have play, we will have to get more creative.

Unfortunately what you need is a replacement titanium handle, but unfortunately I don’t think there is anyone left at Camillus that can tell the difference between the Stiletto blade handle & the Bowie blade handle. (There is a difference, as they do not rotate the same amount between open & closed). Also the current owners couldn’t care less about their customers or employees, that’s just my opinion of course!!!!

Sorry Phil but I have to disagree with you on this one. That is not just your opinion. It is a lot of people's opinion. I can provide you with a whole list if you'd like!!!!!!

I have to comment on the service Maureen Drake has provided me! I had a Camillus HEAT knife with the black blade well after a few times of pulling it out of my pocket I noticed the black coating starting to chip off, well I tried unsuccessfully to enter a warranty claim via there website! I contacted them directly via email addy and Maureen was nice enough to tell me that they do not warranty the Heat because its a imported knife however due to the fact that I tried unsuccessfully to contact them via the online form that she would indeed send me another one FREE! It was a Satin blade model and for my trouble sent me a small "gift" too a deck of Camillus/Western playing cards! My hats off to Maureen Drake & their customer service
