I found a very interesting axe head with the marking " lux" vertically crossing " lux" horisontaly and 1600 after it !
Does anyone have an idea what it is ?

Could you post a pic? That might help with the logo, but it is European. The 1600 is the weight in grams, and equals 3.5lbs.

Good day! "Byl" is axe in Dutch but I'm stuck in trying to figure out the meaning of 'Boetje'.

Is it Afrikaans or Dutch for "Boy's Axe" or "Axe Brother"?

We left S Africa (and the Apartheid regime) also because my Dutch parents were not impressed with how their language had devolved into Afrikaans, plus the fact that I was ineligible to receive schooling in English.

Boetie doesn't seem to translate in Dutch but in Afrikaans it means 'little brother' or 'buddy'. Now all we need is confirmation direct from the horse's mouth. Gidday buddy of axes.
